Dead Bug

The dead bug is a great exercise for turning on all your deep trunk stabilising muscles to help manage things like back pain.

Start by lying on your back. Lift your hands and legs up and as the name suggests, we're now in the position of a dead bug. Try to keep your back as flat against the floor as you can. Think about having a sponge full of water underneath your lower back and you’re trying to squeeze all the water out of using your trunk muscles. If this is a bit easy, you can try tapping one heel forward at a time, alternating legs. The further out you go, the more difficult this will be.
